Regional Capacity Building & Volunteer Network
- Status: Program in Development
- Type: Standard
True humanitarian impact is most sustainable when driven by local people. That’s why PBG Foundation is committed to building regional capacity, training and mobilising local professionals and volunteers as the first responders and change-makers in their own communities. Through this initiative, we will offer workshops and certification programs in areas like emergency first aid, disaster logistics, child safeguarding, and mental health first response. We partner with local NGOs, churches, youth groups, and governments to identify passionate individuals and give them the skills and tools to lead during crises. We also foster a network of volunteers across the Pacific who can support each other and scale up operations when needed. By investing in human capital at the community level, we ensure that when disasters happen, communities are not waiting passively for outside help, they are equipped and empowered to take action immediately. This program also strengthens everyday resilience: the same training that prepares someone to respond to a cyclone also helps them uplift their community in calmer times, through leadership and service. Over time, our regional network of trained volunteers and professionals will form a powerful web of readiness, knowledge, and solidarity across the Pacific, amplifying the impact of every project we implement.
