Our Impact
At PBG Foundation, impact is not measured by headlines or short-term visibility. It is measured by whether communities are safer, stronger, and better supported over time.
Where Impact Becomes Legacy
Because our work focuses on long-term community infrastructure and resilience, we look beyond immediate outputs to understand how our initiatives perform in everyday use, months, and years after delivery. Impact is not just what is built; it is what lasts.
How we define impact
Daily use
We look at whether people actively use and care for the spaces and services we create.
Safety and dignity
We ask if children, families, and vulnerable people feel protected and respected as a result of our work.
Community ownership
We observe whether local stakeholders take pride in and responsibility for what is built.
Durability
We monitor whether projects remain functional, maintained, and relevant over time.
Resilience
We assess whether communities are better equipped to recover from hardship and disruption in the future.
How we measure impact
Our approach combines practical observation, community feedback, and structured review, recognising that some outcomes take time to emerge. We evaluate impact in stages:
Immediate Outputs
In the early stages, we measure success through visible results that show the project is delivered safely, responsibly, and as planned.
- Infrastructure and facilities completed and made operational according to plan
- Safety features properly installed and standards fully met
- Active participation of local community members in project delivery
Short- to Medium-Term Outcomes
Once projects are in use, we evaluate real-world impact to ensure they are working as intended and benefiting the community.
- Frequency and type of use, and overall community engagement
- Reduced risks and safer conditions (such as fewer injuries due to safe facilities)
- Local involvement in maintenance, supervision, and ongoing care
Long-Term Change
Over time, we measure long-term impact to see whether benefits last and communities can sustain progress independently.
- Continued use without external support and stronger community cohesion.
- Safer environments for children and families through better facilities and community care.
- Increased local capacity to manage and maintain shared assets independently.
Learning and accountability
We measure impact through learning, adaptation, and transparency, using real project outcomes to improve future initiatives and remain accountable to communities and donors.
Learning Adaptation
We refine project design and delivery based on challenges, feedback, and real-world performance over time.
Community Accountability
We stay transparent and accountable to communities and donors through honest evaluation and open communication.
Early Development
Some initiatives remain in early phases, allowing careful assessment before long-term impact is fully measured.
Shared Progress
We provide regular updates and impact reflections, using Unity Park to guide future project development.
Our commitment
Impact is not claimed, it is earned. We are committed to honest reporting, responsible stewardship of resources, and continual learning. Our goal is not scale for its own sake, but depth, durability, and dignity in every initiative we support.
