Outreach Health Services, Mobile Clinics
- Status: Program in Development
- Type: Standard
Access to basic healthcare should not be a luxury of distance. In many remote Pacific communities, families live hours or even days away from the nearest clinic or hospital, a gap that only widens when disasters damage roads and facilities. PBG Foundation is working on mobile health clinics to bridge that gap. These mobile clinics will bring essential medical services directly to isolated villages and island communities. Staffed by volunteer doctors, nurses, and health workers (including local practitioners), each mobile unit will provide essential services such as maternal and child health check-ups, routine vaccinations, treatment of common illnesses and chronic disease management, and health education on hygiene and nutrition. We will also equip the mobile clinics with telehealth capability, simple digital tools to connect patients in the field with specialist doctors in urban centres when advanced consultation is needed. By coming directly to communities, our outreach clinics will save lives and improve health outcomes for people who might otherwise go untreated. Over time, we plan to operate regular clinic circuits and emergency medical deployments, ensuring that even the most remote populations are not left behind when it comes to basic healthcare.
